Apply for Flexible Tuition

OES uses a standardized calculation derived by School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS) as a starting point in determining a family’s financial need. The Flexible Tuition Committee consistently applies internal policies and professional judgment when considering each family’s situation.

Flexible Tuition Application Deadlines

OES allocates the full Flexible Tuition budget each Admissions season, so it is important to submit the application and to fully disclose your financial situation by the deadline. Flexible Tuition decisions are communicated to families March 4, 2022.

Important to Know

  • All families are expected to contribute some amount toward their student’s tuition. Most families find they need to adjust their spending priorities, maximize both parents’ earnings, and carefully manage assets in order to afford OES.

  • In calculating a family’s ability to pay, both the custodial and non-custodial parent households are considered. All parents, stepparents, domestic partners of parents, and guardians must submit a complete flexible tuition application in order to be considered.

  • Families must reapply for Flexible Tuition each year, and can expect to see an increase in their contribution with the annual tuition increase. If the financial situation for a family changes, the amount of tuition may be adjusted accordingly.

  • Flexible Tuition applications are reviewed by the Flexible Tuition Committee only. All information is secure and held in strict confidence.

  • Students who qualify for Flexible Tuition may also receive supplemental support for Non-Tuition Expenses.
